Calcutta Fire Department will host its End of Summer Community Day Movie Night from 5 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the fire department. There will be kids inflatable bounce houses, fire department open house, fire games for kids (recommended bring shorts, sandels and towel), live music from a DJ, free hot dogs and cheeseburgers, cornhole, K-9 demonstration and the movie “Luca” at dusk out on the lawn (bring a lawn chair or blanket) all free to the public. The deadline to remove decorations at Bethesda Presbyterian Cemetery in Hanoverton is Sept. 20. All decorations left will be disposed of.

TOPS 1957 of Wellsville met Aug. 23 at the Living Well Church with leader Donna Lee opening the meeting with pledges, roll call and then Connie Hissam led the group in prayer.

Tops best loser was Barb Tranter, Kops best loser was Mary Jarvis and Peggy Kiddey wore the officer’s ribbon. The dimes will be carried over and Tranter won the 50/50 drawing. Tanner was recognized for having 20 pounds off and received four weeks dues paid and a tea towel.

Barb M. gave the treasurer’s report and Brenda Young read the minutes.

The no-no was potato chips and all sweets.

Tranter read a funny and then Lee closed the meeting wishing all a good week.

TOPS 1957 of Wellsville met at the Chester City Park with leader Donna Lee opening the meeting and then Connie Hissam gave the blessing.

Hissam was the Tops best loser, Mary Jarvis was the Kops best loser and Peggy Imburgia wore the officer’s ribbon.

Barb M. had planned games and everyone had a great night with beautiful weather.

Lee closed the meeting wishing all a good week.

East Liverpool TOPS 2231 met Sept. 6 at Boyce Church on Anna Street with leader Tonnie Slagle presiding. The meeting opened up with the Tops and Kops pledges and roll call. Cassy Stephens read the secretary and treasurer’s report.

Tops best loser was Penny Perorazio, Kops best loser was Jean Ferrebee.

Calorie chart was won by Ferrebee, dimes were held over, 50/50 was won by Perorazio. Kops in leeway are Jean Ferrebee, Slagle, Stephens and Betteridge. Three weeks loss was Slagle, six weeks loss was Betteridge and Ferrebee. The No No’s are sweets and alcohol.

Winners of this week’s “No Fibbing Contest” are Verla Betteridge, Tammy Heddelston, Slagle, Stephens, Wanda Price and Carolyn Hager.

Hager read an article on “60 ways to Live Longer, Stronger, Better.”

Slagle closed the meeting with prayer requests followed by the Lord’s Prayer. New and former members are always welcome on Tuesdays at 11 a.m. For information call 330-383-8217.
